Mayor Pecak Delivers State Of The Village Address

Mayor Christopher Pecak presented the annual State of the Village Address on January 18, 2021. His presentation highlighted many of the accomplishments of the Village over the past year as well as exciting things to come in 2021. Mayor Pecak shared how the Village has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic through a variety of efforts including a Village Budget reduction of $4.2 million, securing federal funding to offset personnel costs, collaborating with local jurisdictions, introducing online Village services, waiving fees and focusing on the needs of the community. In an effort to assist Lisle local business, the Outdoor Dining and Drinking program and the Business Relief Program were also launched. Despite the impacts of the pandemic, the Village welcomed almost 20 new businesses to the community this year with efforts from the Lisle Economic Development Partnership.

The Mayor also highlighted how the Village has held its property tax levy flat for the last four years and has decreased its property tax rate over the same duration, lessening the Village's portion of the property tax burden for Lisle residents. The Village of Lisle remains in a strong financial position and has plans for a number of long-term infrastructure projects this year. Mayor Pecak shared his optimism regarding 2021 and future potential redevelopment activity in downtown Lisle, the Ogden Avenue corridor, and the Village corporate corridor.
